After the first five hours of work, I had the ability to do some of the simpler effects that are possible with a stacked deck, but after learning how to walk, I had a strong desire to learn how to run, and later to fly. That's when I created the Stack-J program for my Palm Pilot.

The program is available in either CHaSeD or SHoCkeD order. Because I carry the Palm with me always, I am able to find time to do a few intensive Joyal stack practice sessions for a total of 5-10 minutes a day. The program asks for the card at a random stack number, the stack number of a random card, the card that comes after a random card, and the card that comes before a random card. After about a month of this type of practice, I found that I could work the stack with no hesitation. When you reach this point with a memorized deck, the door is opened to the performance of miracles.
